Obsolete Robinhood Rangehood Repaired

At John Crawford Appliance Repairs, we often see older appliances that are no longer supported with spare parts. A recent example in Armidale involved a Robinhood rangehood with a perished switch - a common failure in older models.
Normally, when a part like this is no longer available, the only option is to replace the entire rangehood. But in this case, there was a fortunate twist.
A Timely Match from Another Appliance
At the same time, another customer happened to be removing a similar Robinhood rangehood. John inspected the unit being removed and noticed that the switch assembly looked like a close match to the broken one.
The part was carefully removed, cleaned, and fitted into the faulty rangehood. Everything lined up perfectly, and once tested, the switch worked as it should.
Extending the Life of Older Appliances
Thanks to a bit of timing and resourcefulness, this obsolete rangehood has been given a second life, avoiding waste and the cost of a full replacement. The repaired unit is now back in working order and continuing to serve its purpose in the kitchen.
