Ilve Oven Timer Repair and Noise Fault

A recent repair job involved an ILVE oven in Armidale that had developed a constant loud noise coming from the control area. The sound had become extremely noticeable and was at a level that made using the kitchen uncomfortable for the customer.
After inspection, the fault was traced to the oven timer assembly. In this particular style of oven, the timer is permanently connected and forms part of the operating circuit for the appliance. Some ovens are designed so that the oven functions will not operate unless the timer is correctly set, which can sometimes lead customers to believe the appliance itself has failed when it is simply waiting for timer input.
In this case, the timer unit itself had become faulty and was producing the loud continuous noise. Rather than replacing the entire timer assembly immediately, the internal wiring was carefully modified to bypass the failed timer section. This allowed the oven to continue operating normally while also silencing the faulty timer completely.
The repair required careful internal electrical work and testing to ensure the oven remained functional and safe to use. Once completed, the customer was able to use their oven again without the constant noise issue.
If you need reliable oven repairs or appliance fault diagnosis in Armidale and surrounding areas, professional troubleshooting can often save the cost of full appliance replacement.
