Circulation Pump Repairs - Miele and Bosch Dishwashers

Recently, we attended to two dishwashers with similar issues, circulation pump faults, but each required a different approach based on the machine’s condition and age.
The first was a white Miele dishwasher displaying an E14 error, indicating a blocked circulation pump. After removing and disassembling the pump, we were able to clear out the blockage and restore full function. Miele dishwashers are known for their longevity, and in this case, the repair was well worth the effort to keep a quality appliance running.
The second was a 16-year-old Bosch dishwasher with a faulty circulation pump. Bosch is another reputable brand with reliable components, but given the dishwasher’s age and the cost of replacement parts, a full repair wasn’t the most economical option. The customer opted to retire the unit, which had already given over a decade and a half of dependable service.
Both Miele and Bosch dishwashers tend to last 15 years or more, and where possible, we aim to repair and extend their life. However, we always weigh the cost of repair against the appliance’s age and remaining value, helping our customers make informed, practical decisions.
