Bosch Washer Dryer Not Spinning

2nd February 2026

John Crawford Electrical and Appliance Repairs recently inspected a Bosch washer dryer in Armidale that was not spinning at all on any wash or dry settings.

After thorough testing, it was confirmed that the washing machine motor itself was not at fault. Bosch motors are well known for their durability and reliability, and in this case the motor was in good working order. The issue was traced instead to the motor control printed circuit board, which manages motor speed and performance throughout the wash and spin cycles.

The motor control board had failed, preventing the machine from spinning under any program. Once this control board was replaced, the washer dryer returned to normal operation and performed correctly during testing.

During the inspection, it was also noted that the water filter was partially blocked. This was cleaned out to ensure proper water flow and prevent future drainage-related issues.

Although the appliance was successfully repaired, the owners chose to upgrade. As a result, the fully functional unit will be donated to charity, allowing it to be reused rather than sent to landfill.

This job highlights the value of professional fault finding. Not all spin issues are caused by motors, and accurate diagnosis can prevent unnecessary part replacements.
